From cookbook authors to food historians, memoirists and artisans, our culinary storytellers highlight our connection to land and community through the ancient ritual of nourishment. Join us for a multi-sensorial and multi-generational celebration of the universal language of food set against the intimate backdrop of Santa Barbara's historic Pico Adobe.

Guests will enjoy a glass of something fresh and sparkling upon arrival, a lively panel discussion on the outdoor terrace, and the opportunity to enjoy our delicious artisan marché filled with freshly baked goods, seasonal ferments, sublime desserts, and small-batch beverages. Books will be available for signing and purchasing. Please note that due to the intimate size of the adobe, this is a limited ticket event.

Join in the festivities and honor Julia Child, join award-winning food writer, cookbook author, and chef, Pascale Beale, for a very special hands-on Mediterranean style cooking class, celebrating La Belle Provence.

This will be served with some of Pascale’s hand-made naturally leavened bread, and stories from her dinners with Julia.

This culinary experience lasts approximately 5.5 hrs (9:30 - 3:00pm) and includes a curated tour of the farmer's market where Pascale will introduce you to her favorite farmers and we will shop for the class, the cooking class, and a three-course lunch on the terrace. This is a hands-on class, and we provide everything you need for the day.

Enjoy an unforgettable evening that will transport you to the French countryside of Provence! Join the Two Baking Brits (Chef’s Pascale Beale and Sandra Adu Zelli) for a six-course Provençal-inspired dinner at Cheese Shop Santa Barbara featuring local produce. Wines will be beautifully paired from The Hilt Winery with each course and there will be stories of Julia Child.

Menu:

  • Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms on Herb ‘Nests’
  • Chilled Pea Soup with Chive-Mint Oil and Croutons
  • Roast Seabass with Sauce Vierge, Tomatoes and Olive Oil Crushed Potatoes
  • Lemon Sorbet
  • Individual Cheese Platters
  • Spring Pavlovas

A portion of the proceeds from this will benefit the Santa Barbara Culinary Experience in partnership with The Julia Child Foundation for Gastronomy and the Culinary Arts. Total ticket amount is includes gratuity.
